Annie Mac, Four Tet, Everything Everything and Metronomy support the UK's largest grassroots music festival
Oxjam returned for its eleventh year this October with a whopping 37 festivals taking place across the UK, plus hundreds of gigs and a special series of launch events featuring the likes of Annie Mac, Metronomy, Everything Everything and Four Tet.
Helping to launch a month of music that that saw some 500 gigs put on by volunteers, up and down the UK, all raising money for Oxfam’s work to fight poverty, the line-up for the launch events extended to include Mr Jukes and Marika Hackman. Everything Everything, who played Oxjam Manchester as an emerging act in 2007, returned as one of the hottest live acts in the UK today and played a very special in store gig on Friday 28th September in Canterbury, Kent.
October 2017 was a massive month of music. Hundreds of inspiring volunteers put on events up and down the country, from Cardiff to Calderdale, Glasgow to Portsmouth, Sheffield to Shepherd’s Bush and everywhere in between. Thousands of up and coming artists performed at some of the UK’s finest independent music venues and a huge amount of money has been raised for Oxfam’s vital work around the world.
However you supported Oxjam 2017 – whether you were part of a festival team, organised a gig, volunteered at an event, played at an event, bought a ticket or just made a donation – you have made a real difference to the lives of those living in poverty around the world, and helped prove that music really can have a global impact. Oxjam is all about you, and would not be possible without you.
