The Berkshire based indie outfit Rila’s Edge’s humble beginnings are attributed to a bundle pack of low-quality microphones, a four-track, and the youthful enthusiasm of two lifelong friends Alfie Harris (Lead Vocals & Guitar) and Charlie Kennedy (Drums).
Their drive and passion led them pair to pursue music at college, where they met Ollie Hedin (Lead Guitar) whilst sneaking out for a cig on the first day of term. Their musical tastes and influences include The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, Libertines, and Tame Impala. The fourth member of the band was bassist Rorie Williams, later to be replaced with George Maclean. Rorie’s funk background aided exploration of other musical directions and pulled the band closer together rhythmically. George came from a more grunge/ rock background combining Rorie’s funk playing, all of which shaped and moulded the overall sound of the band.
The group has been writing and working on their music with guidance from a number of mentors including former ‘Prodigy’ member, Keiron Pepper, and ‘Neon Island’s’, Carlos De Los Santos. Following the success of their first set of singles, the band plan to follow with a string of catchy, punchy, and crisp tracks in the new year.
